HELMET OF VALOR - HUNTER JACKET - TORCH - ANY SANDALS - LYMHURST CAPE

B Tier
Difficulty Scale:
Easy, Medium, Hard, I HATE MYSELF
Awakening traits:

S tier- CDR

A tier- Attack speed, ability damage, defense, hp, life steal

b tier- mana cost reduction, attack damage, IP

This build usually requires more than 1 rotation to kill, so CDR is very important. Shorter cooldowns on helmet also makes it possible for you to purge a defensive early on and still have it ready for the undead cape.

Attack speed and ability damage are the best damage buff traits. Your E scales from ability damage, not attack damage. Defensive traits like HP, DEF, life steal, helps you stay alive so you can get more than 1 rotations off.

IP improves your damage, but also ups your mana cost, so it’s not the best. Mana cost reduction makes it easier to run a more impactful cape than Lymhurst. Attack damage is probably the worst trait here, but you can still get some value out of it since you do have to auto attack with this build.

Default Abilities and Passives:
DAGGER

Q2, W4, passive 1

Helmet of Valor
Purifying Smoke, passive 1

Hunter Jacket:
Haste, passive 1/2/3 (see explanations)
Sandals:
Energizing Sprint, passive 2

Explanation:

This is a fairly well-rounded build, however it is off meta mostly because it is very difficult to play it against current meta builds. This build is heavily countered by kite builds such as Frost and Chillhowl, and hit-and-run builds such as Double Bladed Staff. For your jacket passive, the highest damage output comes from passive 1, but the CDR passive makes it easier to survive in the CDR-heavy meta. If you run low tier, your torch may feel like it does not provide enough attack speed. If that’s the case, take 2nd passive on chest. The highest damage output combo is pre-stack Q>R>E>W to follow up. However, you’ll rarely get the ideal skill order off. Often you need to use E alone to force out enemy defensives such as Mistwalker Jacket, then kite away and try to go for a full engage on 2nd rotation. Ideally, you will want to use your helmet to purge undead cape if they are using undead cape, so you will have to use your E to force out cooldowns and save your helmet. If they don’t have undead cape, then you can purge boots and defensives as you see fit.

For some tips and tricks, see the videos on the right.

Strengths and weaknesses:

High Damage, can fight out geared.

Vulnerable against kiting and hit-and-run builds.

Variations:

Bridgewatch Cape was the old meta with this build and it is still somewhat playable, the slow from the cape can make your E harder to kite.

Avalonian Cape is useful for dismounting and helps you do some extra damage.

Undead Cape is useful for surviving rats.

Lymhurst Cape is the recommended option, as it helps greatly with fighting kite builds. Often, spamming Q is your only way to keep up with kite builds such as warbows and frosts, even against melee builds, when you win a trade and they begin running, you will need to spam Q to chase after them, which would quickly drain your mana.
Main Food:

Eel Stew
