Dual Swords (budget)

Dual Swords

Hunter Hood - Mercenary Jacket - Sandals - Martlock Cape

B Tier

Awakening trats:

Most people do not play this build at high tier, so awakening stats may not be in consideration for most people that play this build. However, if you want to play awakened dual swords:

The highest value common traits are: HP, DEF, Ability Damage.

Life steal and CDR are also great.

If no better traits are available, IP and attack damage are less preferred by still offer some value.

Default Abilities and Passives:
Dual swords:

Q1, W3, passive1

Hunter Hood:
Retaliate, passive 1

Mercenary Jacket:
Bloodlust, passive 1
Any cloth sandals:
Energizing sprint Sprint, passive 2 (aggression)

Explanation:

This is a brawling build. Play near small mob spawns as you would often need to proc Mercenary Jacket on mobs. If your opponent has purge, it may sometimes be worth it to switch W to iron will to not get your important buffs purged. Most obvious example of this is using iron will + hunter hood / infernal shield against 1h dagger. When chasing, keep your Q stacks up as much as possible, stacking on mobs is very important for keeping up your movement to chase with. When engaging against kite builds, don’t burn W and E at the same time. Engage with one and use the other to stick on target after they try to disengage.

Strengths and weaknesses:

High burst, good at brawling, decent mobility.

Very one-directional, can get out played by high mobility/high utility builds.

Variations:

Fiend cowl is a common choice instead of Hunter Hood. Purging boots makes chasing easier.

Helmet of valor is many than Fiend Cowl in many cases, especially when it comes to the ability to purge stealth and cleanse off cultist cowls, but it’s more expensive than Fiend Cowl.

Avalonian, Thetford, and Keeper cape are all good options for extra damage on this build. Martlock is very strong for brawling and is preferred by many Corrupted Dungeon players, but in the mist against high mobility builds Martlock is a bit less effective as it can get kited out. Damage Capes are more commonly used as it guarantees some value no matter the situation.

Main Food:

Beef Stew
(As a budget build, most people will take the cheap food. However, Eel Stew is better for the CDR and Puremist is better for pure brawling)
